Would you like to discover more about antique British quilts?
I run online Heritage Quilt Club sessions via Zoom. These are small groups, so there is plenty of opportunity to ask questions, or contribute ideas. We have members from the UK and USA, and even Australia, and it doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or an expert.
If you would like to join us, look for details of current sessions in the Antique Quilt Study section of my online Shop.
There are two groups – Thursday afternoons and Monday evenings UK time.
We spend about an hour discovering about a quilt from my Collection in detail, looking at close-up images to see the detail which could easily be missed.

- Who made or owned the quilt (if known)?

- Which part of Britain was the quilt made (if known)?
- Does it have distinctive Regional characteristics such as the quilting designs?

- Do the patchwork or quilting patterns have names?
- How old is it likely to be, and how do we know?

“Zoonomia” by Erasmus Darwin published in 1794
- How was it constructed?
- Was it stitched by hand or machine?
- What dyes and printing techniques could have been used to create the fabrics?
