Description
Skilful Skyful is a series of tutorials which gradually teach traditional block patchwork stitched on the sewing machine.
The third instalment focusses on Flying Geese units, and as always, two free patterns for blocks are included so that you can try out the techniques.
The easier block was Evening Star, and this slightly more challenging pattern is for two blocks, Dutchman’s Puzzle, and Mosaic. These two 12″ blocks are related, as they use the same units arranged in a different way.
Other blocks which you could try are Festival Star and Rising Star.
The instructions include tips for making and using the Flying Geese units so that you can produce either block, complete with perfect points.
